AT OLYMPIA PAINTS OUR CUSTOMERS ARE THE CENTRAL FOCUS OF OUR MARKETING EFFORTS

Since launching our online paint store last year, we have had to continually increase awareness for our brand in the digital space through innovative marketing techniques.

We’ve had to promote the notion of shopping for paint online, and have amplified our new focus of making the customer central to our marketing efforts to deliver value in all aspects of our interactions with our clients.

It is for this reason that we launched our ‘ValYOU’ campaign to kick-off the new year; the campaign promotes our “premium-quality product at an affordable price” proposition, with the customer or end-user as the central focus and primary reason for doing what we do.

The creative execution and messaging draws its inspiration from a Warren Buffet quote, which says, “Price is what you pay, Value is what you get.” In our view this appropriately encapsulates Olympia’s business objectives which are to sell our high-quality paint products, which are affordably priced, all underpinned by improving and enhancing a customer’s paint purchasing experience.

We believe that we have managed to effectively capture all Olympia’s core messages in the word ‘ValYOU’, and initial indications are that the campaign is resonating with the target audience.

STAFF PROFILE: RIZAAK HATTAS

This month’s paint splash is on Rizaak Hattas, an integral member of our sales team at Olympia.

With more than 20 years in the building industry, Rizaak started his journey at Olympia International Paints and Coatings as a sales representative on 01 July 2015. With no client base when he started out, the first 6 months was the most trying time. However, with loads of perseverance, a passion for people, and a healthy dose of always going the extra mile, things started turning around. Today, Rizaak manages a large client portfolio, and mainly in the construction and housing sectors.

Rizaak remembers the highlight of his career at Olympia like it was yesterday. A ‘normal’ day in his sales job would be to visit building sites, introduce himself and present Olympia’s credentials, to assess a potential client’s needs, and through a process of providing the requisite specifications and pricing, secure the contract to supply the client with their paint requirements.

His absolute highlight was to be contacted by New Age Properties and to be informed that Olympia has been awarded the paint contract for their Watergate development, a massive housing project with a number of phases throughout Mitchells Plain.

“I am truly proud”, he says, “And can confidently say that Olympia is the paint supplier for Watergate’s entire development scheme in Mitchells Plain.”

Rizaak says that working at Olympia International Paints and Coatings is truly a gratifying experience, seeing one’s hard work come to fruition, as well as being a part of a community that shares a similar vision for success.

“I can attest to the quality of our product range, our service is world class, and our prices are extremely competitive. And importantly, everyone at Olympia sets our clients’ needs before our own”, he says.

OLYMPIA COMES ALONGSIDE THE CITY IN A CLEANUP OF LEONSDALE

We recently supported the City of Cape Town in a cleanup of Leonsdale in Elsies River by sponsoring exterior paint to improve the aesthetics of the area and to remove unsightly graffiti.  The project was initiated by Franchesca Walker, the Ward Councillor for the area, and we were delighted to see the City’s Mayor, Mr Dan Plato, get into a pair of overalls and lending a hand too!

OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH SA DISABLED GOLF MAKES CLASSROOM UPGRADES FOR DISABLED CHILDREN POSSIBLE

Our sponsorship of paint to the SA Disabled Golf Association has made it possible to upgrade and beautify the indoor golfing environment at the RP Moodley school for disabled children in Kwa-Zulu Natal. For more information about the work that they do, visit their website here: www.sadga.co.za.
